Swamp Optics, LLC

Background:
Swamp Optics began offering ultrashort laser pulse characterization devices to the ultrafast optics community in 2001. Its products proved very successful, and it didn't take long for the company to outgrow its initial "build-it-yourself" Web site.

Swamp Optics' target customers are scientists doing cutting edge research with ultrashort laser pulses—pulses with durations of about 10 picoseconds or less. Such pulses have many applications in biology, chemistry, physics, and electrical engineering.

Role:
Information design and architecture, content development, Web design and development, and graphic design.

Process & Results:
The site's design and content had to very specifically target Swamp Optics' prospective customer base and provide quick access to product specifications, literature, and supporting materials (journal articles, papers, etc.).

The current site offers clear and easily accessible information about GRENOUILLE--the company's primary product line--and a navigation bar leads directly to topics of interest, for both prospective and existing customers. Sidebar items call out topical events such as upcoming conference appearances, recent press coverage, and awards. Frequent information updates keep the site fresh for repeat visitors.
